Prior to trying out the FlipBelt I had probably gone through at least 3 different belts that carried my personal items and fuel during a race or a long run around my neighbourhood and I can honestly say nothing has compared - either they were too bulky, uncomfortable, or they'd just move around too much and never stay in place; I was on the hunt for a belt that wasn't going to be a distraction while I ran and I've found it.
Immediately after using the belt for the first time I noticed perfection, no joke. It held everything I needed to bring with me (my iPhone, car key, chapstick, kleenex, cash, ID, fuel) and didn't move at all. I even found myself checking to see if my stuff was still on me while I was using it; I completely forgot about it.
Not only is it sleek, but it's also a great looking product compared to what's out there - the fanny pack of the modern age if you will. Definitely my new go to - you won't see me running without it!
FlipBelt is THE solution for carrying all of your stuff while you're on a run, or even when you're at the gym and don't want to throw your stuff in your locker. It's machine washable and dryable, comfortable (no bulk, no bounce), and comes in every colour you could think of. Learn more about the FlipBelt here.

Ever since I tried my first pair of Pro Compression Calf Sleeves for my recovery after the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon back in July of this year I haven't used any other compression products. True story. Comparing the difference with my recovery after my first half marathon I ran in May at the Mississauga Marathon, I felt fantastic; I felt no pain at all in my legs and I was even able to go for a decent run the next day and get back in the gym. Pro Compression products are not only great for recovery, but also while you're training or racing and there are a variety of things to pick from including compression socks in various lengths, as well as compression arm sleeves. These are a great gift if you want to treat yourself or the athlete in your life.
There are always great deals/promotions going on, or you can get a grab bag (3 random sets of sleeves or socks at a great price), OR pick up the sock of the month, which is a new design that comes out every month, at a discounted price! You can also sign up for monthly specials on their homepage.
This is THE headband to have, regardless of whether or not you run. I stumbled across getting my own headband after winning a contest online just a few months ago and I have no idea what I did before it. Well actually I do, and that's not wear a headband because anything I had was worse than going without one. The Sparkly Soul Sport and Fitness Headbands are perfect; don't slip, don't cause headaches, are extremely comfortable to wear, and not to mention they look great! The headbands come in thin or wide and are available in a variety of colours, so you should be able to find exactly what you want right on their website. The only problem with these headbands is once you have one you'll be right back on their website to get another in a different colour, because who doesn't want to match their race day outfit.
There are also satin headbands available if you're not a fan of the sparkly. Not sure why you wouldn't be a fan by the way, just saying.
This package from PRO Compression could not have come at a better time - I just ran the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon yesterday morning and then took a Greyhound bus overnight home, which was 12+ hours and my legs were kind of feeling it by the time I was back in Toronto. As soon as I saw that my PRO Compression Calf Sleeves had arrived I put them right on. It took awhile to put them on but within seconds I felt the difference - the sleeves really made a difference with my circulation and have made the recovery of this half marathon feel much different and more improved than the last time I ran one. No pain in my shins at all and I haven't used anything other than the sleeves at this point. I'm truly looking forward to trying them out during a run to see how it changes my workout/race experience and I'll be sure to update this post or write another.
Looking at some of the key features provided by the product, I'm not really sure how anyone could turn them down.
- True Graduated Compression
- Wide cuff for added comfort.
- Moisture wicking materials
- No blisters!
I'm not really sure how I went all this time without a pair and I'll definitely be ordering more.
These socks are made in the USA and sold directly from the company, no middleman and bigger discounts. Have I mentioned, they actually ship to Canada!
What's also really neat about PRO Compression is that they always have a sock of the month, which means a new design, every month, at a discounted price. You can sign up for monthly specials on the home page!
